The Essence of Place Show for the Niagara Frontier Plein Air Painters at the Kenan Center in Lockport NY was a success. I was thrilled to find that two of my creations sold. Sunday Delight at Bonds Lake and Let's Go Down to the River to Pray were scooped up by local art collectors. I'm feeling blessed by them and all the artists that were in the show. Praise be to God for his provisions. He has been the catalyst to continue to create and admire his beautiful creation.

Spring is here! I'm preparing for my favorite summer outdoor art festivals. The first is Allentown Art Festival in Buffalo NY on June 10-11. After that will be the Lewiston Art Festival in Lewiston NY on August 12-13. Looking forward to showing you my latest paintings and meeting new people and seeing old friends. Hope you will be there too.
This painting was finished just days before the predicted blizzard was to hit all of the Buffalo and Niagara region of western NY state. Little did we know at the time how epic this storm would be and how many lives it would needlessly take from us. This bad boy represents the resilience of a community that prides itself on being the city of good neighbors. We stand firm together in the storm and help each other clean up in the aftermath.
Starting today 150 LIMITED EDITION SIGNED PRINTS will be available of Majestic Niagara. Order your print today.
This new creation called "The Good Path" is a 30" x 40" oil painting on canvas of the swing bridge in the Royalton Ravine in northern Niagara County, NY near Gasport. What a beautiful and refreshing hike it is on a hot, dry summer day.
The River Art Gallery and Gifts Holiday Showcase will be from November 18-December 31. Two of my paintings will be in the showcase at 83 Webster Street in North Tonawanda. The pink building on the same side as the Riviera Theatre. If you are looking for original art of any kind this is a great place to find some extraordinary artwork by local artists. On Thanksgiving weekend Small Business Saturday will be in full swing. I will have my home open gallery/studio from 11 am to 7 pm at 6971 Errick Rd. North Tonawanda. Please swing by to see the paintings in person. They are much better in-person than they are online. I was honored and blessed to have 3 paintings juried into this fun show last weekend. It was my first art show since starting this new journey. I decided it was time to get my feet wet. Sales were disappointing but it was still a fun show to participate in for the exposure. The next show I was juried into is the Lewiston Art Festival in Lewiston NY on August 13-14. I will have a full show tent for everyone to view. Hope to see some of you there. Let me know if you read my blog post.
This painting was made in late 2021 before Ukraine was invaded by Russia. It is aptly named The Passing Storm. Little did I know when I painted it that the sunflower was the national flower of Ukraine. Now that there is so much suffering and turmoil in that country, I decided that this piece could be used to offer help to them. When this piece sells, I will donate 30% to Samaritan's Purse Ukraine Relief. Samaritan's Purse is a well-known and trusted organization that will use the money wisely. When the original is sold, it will be available in print form. God Bless the Ukrainian people!
This was a privately commissioned painting that I recently delivered. The subject has such warm memories for this family and their life. The late patriarch of the family helped to forge the slide lock handles. I was able to recreate the original color of the barn without losing the rustic appeal. They cried when it was unveiled.
Do you have a memory that you would like preserved in a one of a kind piece of art? Let me help. This was my first cold wax experiment that came as a surprise to me that so many people loved it. It became a retirement gift that has found a permanent home. Here it is pictured in her sitting room. I should do more cold wax paintings. They are fun to do because surprises await as I take away and add layers while painting. If you like this painting, it is now available in print form in the gallery.
I recently had the pleasure of creating a 10" x 20" commissioned oil painting for a man that lives near Boston, MA. His desire was to give a painting to his wife for Christmas of her lovely gardens. He wanted her to enjoy her garden all year round. What a thoughtful husband!
If you are ever looking for a thoughtful gift to inspire a loved one or remember a special time together, why not have me create a painting. Contact me to see what we can plan together to make it a special gift. |
